10-30-08 Rockets vs. Mavericks 112-102

The game got real close in the 4th quarter, but with the help of Ron Artest's shots, the Rockets pulled away with the victory. Artest showed that he is capable of making perimter shots, and it really helped out the Rockets get the win. With T-Mac on the bench and the Rockets tied with the about 6 minutes to go, Artest showed that he could still play. So the Rockets won, which is good but seeing Artest's ability to be a team player was great. When Yao got fouled by Josh Howard, Artest came running in to save his big man, not (like many poeple thought) pick a fight. That is behind him now. I was very pleased to see that.Yao also looked good. He was healthy and played decent minutes. Aaron "Speedy" Brooks played well subbing for Rafaer Alston. So the Rockets won and it required Artest to take over the game in over to win. Thats all right, he is just one person of three with the abilty to step it up and win a game. So with the Rockets Big-3 the Rockets look in good shape for the rest of the season. 

This Could be the Start of Something New

The Rockets did an outstanding job against the Sacramento Kings in their last preseason game. Yao showed what he could do if he is healthy and Ron Artest was great. McGrady seemed to be in some pain, but still played great. We know these players can play really good ball, but can they be a team? McGrady had to carry the load last year in the playoffs. The team won't prosper if T-Mac has to continue to carry the load. Now with 3 healthy superstars the Rockets have unbelievable potential. The Rockets can do what the Celtics did last season. Three amazingly talented players, not to mention street legent, Raufer Alston. It is even possible for the Rockets to win more than 22 stratight. It will all depend on how these players want play like. If they want to be selfish and be the "man" on the team then the team will have limited success. If these guys can develop some chemistry then they will be hard to stop. They also need to stay healthy which has been a problem for Yao and T-Mac. So get ready America, the Rockets are ready, and they arn't afraid to get in a shootout, or play some defense. They got it all. Can this finally be there year. First game is on Wednesday October 29, 2008 at 7:30PM against the Memphis Grizzlies. 

The Houston Rockets Review

As the Rockets head into the 2009 season, they have very high expectations. After picking up Ron Artest the Rockets have all the weapons needed for a championship run. The Big 3 of H-Town are Tracy McGrady, Ron Artest, and Yao Ming. McGrady is truely a superstar and will be a big key in this Rockets team if he can stay healthy. Ron Artest has come a long way from his season long suspension in 2004. I believe he is ready to play. Yao is one of the best centers in the game, but he has trouble staying healthy. He will be a dominant force if he can stay healthy. Also we great backups like Shane Batier and Brent Berry, this can truly be the Rockets year, and this blog is dedicated to following there every step to the championship.
